Our independence
CaskID does not sell casks, takes no commission on cask sales, and does not accept payment from brokers for coverage. Our articles are written for cask owners and buyers, not to move stock.
- We do not sell casks
- CaskID is a register, not a broker. We have no inventory to shift and no stake in whether you buy a particular cask.
- No commission on sales
- CaskID takes no commission on any cask sale, including casks listed by brokers on our marketplace. Owners pay a flat per-cask registration fee, whatever the cask is worth.
- No paid coverage
- Brokers, warehouses and distilleries cannot pay to appear in, influence, or review our articles. There is no sponsored content.
- Sources are linked
- Articles link to the public sources they rely on so you can check them yourself. We do not publish figures we cannot source.
CaskID is funded by owners paying a flat annual fee to register each cask. Brokers, warehouses and distilleries use CaskID free of charge. See pricing and about CaskID.
How articles are produced
Articles are researched and drafted with AI tools that search public sources, then published by CaskID. Every factual claim in an article is logged so it can be checked against its source, and we correct or withdraw articles when a claim does not hold up.
Articles are general information, not financial advice. Buying a whisky cask is generally not regulated by the FCA, so speak to a regulated adviser before making an investment decision.
Corrections
If you think something in an article is wrong, email support@cask.id with the article and the claim. We check it against the source and correct, update or withdraw the article. Corrected articles show an “Updated” date.
