We verify casks. That's it.

No sales, no commissions, no conflicts.

CaskID was founded by an FCA-regulated capital markets professional, formerly at BlackRock. In regulated markets — property, securities, vehicles — independent registries are the default. Whisky casks had none of it. Investors were handing over tens of thousands of pounds on the strength of a PDF from the seller.

We're based in Scotland, where most of the world's Scotch matures.

Your data is encrypted at rest with AES-256, protected by row-level access controls, and the platform has been independently penetration tested.

§ II — The Register That Isn't

Every car has a VIN. Every cask has… nothing.

Every car has a VIN. Every person has a passport. Every property has a Land Registry entry. Whisky casks? Nothing.

  1. No proof of ownership

    Your Delivery Order is a warehouse acknowledgement, not proof of ownership. It's based on what the seller told the warehouse — and your certificate came from the seller too.

  2. No central record

    There's no Land Registry for casks. No way to check if yours has already been sold to someone else.

  3. No independent check

    Brokers verify their own sales. Warehouses confirm their own records. Who's checking the checkers?
